Dinner and Dance and Line Dancing

We had a great time at the dinner/dance last night, actually it was a hoot. The men's club put this one on, so their rules right... well, I've bitched for a long time (just to friends) that there are too many line dances, they take up the whole freaking floor so no one else can dance. Not a problem when it actually is a line dance, but they do it to everything, even Mustang Sally, and Springstein's Pink Cadillac which to me is a sacrilege LOL and this particular couple play them very well, you can really boogie to them. Hubby says " they'd line dance to a f...ing police siren" ;D

Well, the men's club most be thinking the same thing 'cos they asked the group to limit the line dances - to 7... ( about 5 too many in my books) however, the group can't stop anyone from doing a line dance to whatever they play, and the gals do, so it really doesn't stop them. LOL However, I think they got the message, but the women's club will likely put on the next dance so there won't be the restrictions. I bet there'll be some fireworks over it, wish I could be a fly on the wall. I have to say, I had a third glass of wine so I got a bit lippy about it ( too many line dances)

Sigh... of all the tragic happenings in the world, and I'm worried about too many line dances.

I would love to learn how to line dance, just for the exercise and may be some fun in it. People pay, just to learn how to do it and here in my little town they are teaching it. You never know, one of these days I might be one of those people showing off my fancy steps. I will BMOB of wine. LOL

I was invited to an anniversary party last night but declined because I was supposed to go to Niagara Falls. Plans fell through there too so I stayed home.

Islandgrl, Any kind of dancing is great exercise and fun.
If you have the chance to take lessons in line dancing, I say go for it!

It is fun, they do give lesson where we are, I especially like the cupid shuffle cos it's easy

It's not that I don't like it, but when they jump up and take over the floor for a lot of songs it gets a bit much. Guess the mens club thought so too, LOL

I admire the line-dancers...but I don't know any of the steps. However...I do love to dance, and I can see it all now...lines and lines of dancers stretched across the floor as you try to two-step or fox-trot! .....grrr.... You're right Sunnysideup, LOL!!

At the risk of sounding wayyyyyy behind the times I have to ask "what Is Line dancing"

I used to remember back in high school we used to dance in several long lines, each one behind the other. Is this what we are talking about here. Retro dancing Or something else???
