Glad, you are fortunate to have such a large garden space and the vegetables look very healthy.

You will have a lot of good food to eat later on.
Your growing season is far ahead of ours here.
Our harvest season is summer to early fall.

GoodJob Thanks for all the great pictures.

Veggie garden looking great and way ahead of ours. Garden isn't planted yet but I have put in some carrots, radishes, lettuce, spinach and meslum. All are up when I looked yesterday except for the meslum.

Lots of Romaine lettuce which seeded themselves in the Fall. With all the rain over the last 3 days they have grown a lot. Garlic, shallots and onions are doing very well also.

I have moved all the stuff I am going to plant outside to toughen them a bit. I am going away for 4 days on the 15th and would like to get them in the ground before I leave.

This year the garden is about a month ahead of schedule. I took a big chance back in March when we had warm weather. I think I mentioned here we had a hail storm not long after the cold crops were out but the coffee cans helped protect them. Lettuce and spinach were just peeking through the ground at that time.

In early April I planted tomatoes and that is normally not done until toward the end of April. I have a feeling we will have a long summer here which means crops will be done early. Hopefully I might be able to go to see my mom in August. That would be great. Maybe their hurricane season will be not so bad this year.

My one son helps out in a peach orchard and the peaches will be ready to harvest at least three weeks ahead of time this year.

I think Tea is the young camelia leaves? Is that what you have Glad? When I visited N. Carolina they were plentiful and gorgeous blooms. Does your bloom and maybe a little too cold for camelias?

The tea plants were just planted last year. Seem to be growing slowly but did survive the winter here. The one plant that did not have protection from the house is not doing as well. There were three varieties so it may be the variety. Not sure how many years before they bloom. I heard they smell wonderful!

I'm exhausted..by just looking at the photos of all of the hard work that has gone into your garden! It's so beautiful! I don't know how you do it all as well as your Forum activities and I admire your inexhaustible energy...so very much! Islandgrl...you and Glad are like two peas in a pod! Up until 10 or 15 years ago, I had your energy, but hmmmmm.....pssssssst.........it went down the tube to Never-Neverland!

Happy Gardening, but take a moment to sit a spell. Those bones get weary after a while! Sad

Thanks for the video I enjoyed it very much!

Pretty tired this evening. This morning was shopping for a new pressure canner. We will have a bumper crop of beans this year so I want to do something other than pickling them.

Also purchased corn seeds....according to the package we need 65 days for this variety (others were longer) so we got them in the ground this afternoon. Thinking of planting a hill of pumpkin in one of the sections (already watermelon was planted in the other section.) Oh yes, the two sections for the corn were the sections the potatoes were in. Will try to get a picture of the potatoes tomorrow. I thought they did very well for four rows of potatoes planted. Son did plant a couple short rows in another section that are not ready to dig yet. As items are done I plan to put fall crops in sometime in August.

The Japanese beetles have started so I powdered the beans today also. The squash beetles are out also so the cucumbers and squash got powdered as well.

Since we powdered we had to let the watering go for tonight except for the corn seeds that were planted.

The first of the tomatoes should be ready long before our 4th of July. It has always been a tradition in our area to see who gets the first ripe tomato and how soon before the 4th. We have had a few green peppers which is a nice treat.

The cucumbers are loaded with blooms and so are the lemon cucumbers. Anxious about these.

I am disappointed in the cauliflower. Guess I cannot have everything. The broccoli is still producing like crazy. We are getting the purple cabbage now. Brussel sprouts are loaded and are beginning to be firm. Can't wait to taste a fresh Brussels sprout.

Peas are done and they did so so since it was hot earlier this year.

Blackberries are turning red so they are coming along great. Didn't get to harvest much from the blueberries but at least they made something. Usually takes several years and these are three years old now. They should do great next year.
