    Rice is so versatile and low cal too. Yet the "experts" keep knocking white rice. I like two kinds of rice more than any other. Jasmine and basmanti rice. When I was a child my father grew rice but I think it was white rice. It was delicious.

    What kinds of rice do you like and what is your favourite way to prepare it.

    I use rice frequently as a substitute for potatoes. Chicken with rice is a favorite. Or as a side with broth, mushrooms and onion.

    One thing I do keep in the freezer is a box of frozen egg rolls from Costco, and along with Europe's Best Zen Garden veggies and some rice with Teriaki Sauce I have an almost instant Chinese Take-out without the big price.

    I developed a taste for brown rice years ago and never went back to white. A little longer cooking time but so much more in taste and nutrition.
