Well today was a busy day in the garden.

Raking and hoeing for one thing.

Then the planting of 8 broccoli, 8 green cabbage, 4 purple cabbage plants.

Sowing of lettuce, spinach, radish seeds.

    Watering what was planted.

Grands came over and planted onions.

Hoeing more areas getting ready for beets, cucumbers, beans, squash, tomatoes, peppers (when the time is right).

    Potatoes were planted last week.

You are way ahead of us Glad.  Lots of snow still on the ground here but it is melting away slowly by the day.  The forecast is for plus 4-8*C above 0* in the coming days. Sunday will be up to 8*C. That is a welcome sign of things to come. Lots of robins and red wing black birds.

I have my peppers going and will get  other seeds in soil this week.  Some I should have started already but didn't.  Not sure if I should leave those seeds until next year.

    Good luck gardening.

    Thank you IG!

    On Thursday we planted:

    Peas
    Carrots
    Beets
    Spinach (more)
    Lettuce (more)
    Kale
    Swiss Chard

In a week or so maybe the beans can be planted along with squash, cucumbers, okra, tomatoes and peppers. It is starting to be warmer except for a few cold nights when we need to cover plants.

Cabbage and broccoli growing nicely. Will get a picture soon.

By the way Islandgrl....I keep seeds from one year to the next. You do take a risk of some not germinating but I do have some success from left over seeds.

Trying something for the first time this year. Saved okra seeds from the pods last year. Will let everyone know if they germinate of not.
