    Valentine was a priest who served during third century Rome. The Emperor ruling at that time was Claudius II. Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those that were married, so, he outlawed marriage for young men in hopes of building a stronger military base. Supposedly, Valentine, decided this wasn't fair and chose to marry young couples secretly. When Emperor Claudius II found out about Valentine's actions, he had him put to death.

    Another legend has it that Valentine was an imprisoned man who fell in love with his jailor's daughter. Before he was put to death he sent the first 'valentine' himself when he wrote her a letter and signed it 'Your Valentine'.

    We willl never know the true identity and story behind St. Valentine, but February has been the month to celebrate love dating to the Middle Ages.

    On Valentine’s Day we think about
    Those matchless people who
    Give extra meaning to our lives--
    The very special few.


    Without them, skies would turn to gray;
    Things wouldn’t be the same;
    Life wouldn’t be as colorful;
    It would be a duller game.


    And when I contemplate that group--
    Friends and family who are mine,
    I appreciate and treasure you;
    You’re essential, Valentine!

    Very busy business man rushes down stairs and gulps down the breakfast made for him by his wife. As he puts his coat on heads for the door,his wife says "
    Have you forgotten what day it is " He says "Of course not"

    On his drive to work he realizes that he does not and decides to cover all the bases and makes some phone calls.

    When he arrives home at night his wife gives him a big kiss and says "Thank you very much"

    This afternoon a delivery man brought me a big bouquet of Roses and later another delivery man brought me a big box of expensive chocolates but this is the first time I was ever given treats on Groundhog Day!
