These are a heritage site, the locks are still manually operated the same as they were in 1832.

Is this the Bedford Lock in UK on the river Ouse? or Bedford in Canada, sure looks like ours. I live in Bedfordshire not too far from the lock.

It's in Canada, in the Ottawa-Rideau area and is also a heritage site. It sure does look similar doesn't it, I guess they were built in pretty much the same manner .
