Name something you might see while out for a drive or a walk.

Sightseeing game
While having a ride on my M/C today, I saw a 150 year old country Presbyterian church and grave yard. Our first born son is buried and its where we will join him when we leave this vale of tears. Stone reads; "In God's Hands"

Wuzfuz, Your post touched my heart. We often drive to the cemetery about three miles from our home where our youngest son is buried and where we will be buried beside him sometime, we know not when.

Sightseeing Game
Hello Oceanna.
Losing a child is probably the most traumatic thing in a persons life.

Re: Sightseeing Game
Oceanna and Wuzfuz you both touched my heart.
I cannot imagine losing a child. Losing a father and a husband is bad enough. Both were in their early to mid 60's too.
If it would not be to painful I would like to know how your children died.
My father died of a heart attacked from complications of diabetes and my husband died of cancer. (The anniversary will be next Friday for my hubby.) It has been lonely but I am making it and this year it has been a tiny bit easier. I think because I have been really busy the past two weeks.
I love the song Wuzfuz. One of my favorites.

While out for a drive on a sunny day I saw a farm pond with 10 or 12 ducks paddling around.

On my walk today, fallen leaves of golds and orange, peppered my path like rose petals down a wedding isle.

Re: Sightseeing Game
Again today, the wind was brisk and the leaves around me fluttered to the ground...and then...as though they wished to stay.....they fluttered upward. The air.....oh...the air!!! so fresh and pure at the onset of fall...as it could ever be!
Come to Winnipeg!! Come to Manitoba!! Our air is so great even in our city. No need to travel out of town to escape smog and .....whatever! Come to Winnipeg...come to Manitoba!
I spent most of my day outdoors today, prepping for winter....sociallizing....and....just checkin' out the neighbourhood. What a gorgeous day....to wander about the city...and if you were so lucky ....to be visiting the country side.....with the strong NNW wind that made the colo rs of the season come together in golds..and oranges and reds!!..Well !! you've been blessed! :).
The falling of the leaves is so much better than the falling of snow....hmmmmm.... Aren't we a lucky bunch...here in Canada! I love!! .....the season of fall with the leaves turning to golds and reds
and falling around me, as if to celebrate a quieter time!!....yes..the quieter time of Winter...but before we know it ....it's Christmas..! Still hustle and bustle, but of a different sort.
Well it will all slide into place as it always does.....won't it? Come to think of it.....I'm not sure whether I like the colors of fall better than the pristene color of white that blankets most of our Country before the Christmas Season.
Think about it!! Is there anything more beautiful than a blanket of freshly fallen ,immacuatly white snow...sparkling like diamonds in the moonlight.... and the air so fresh and crisp.....that it stings your nostrils!. Hmmmm...think about it!
Yes!!......... Canada!!
Hmmmm...I guess that I made this more of an essay than a game! ..oops!

Re: Sightseeing Game
Fall is in full swing and the leaves have almost turned brown. I sometimes wonder how I missed the beautiful colours. Last weekend I saw some vibrant reds, oranges and yellow through my amber sunglasses. LOL I should have taken a picture through my glasses, they were beautiful.
My lawn is covered with brown leaves and branches which I have to rake before cutting. Love the rustle of the leaves. What stands out now is the noise from redwing blackbirds that are after the farmer's corn. Guess they need to fuel up for their trip South. Not sure where they overwinter.

(Hello Toetapping, how nice to have you drop in, come by more often, you are missed.
Something we never see here is kangaroos lazing in the sun, how wonderful!)
While out this morning I saw a young mother with twins in a double stroller.

Re: Sightseeing Game
While coming home from the computer repair shop I saw a large piece of land being
bulldozed and levelled, where more big box stores are to be built.
I fear we will lose our malls that are so convenient, park and go in out of the weather
and shop, or stop for a coffee or lunch, then shop some more, rest on a bench and maybe greet friends.
I am not a fan of huge stores where you have to drive from one to the next.
Change is not always good for everyone.

Re: Sightseeing Game
On a drive in the country recently I saw something that reminded of simpler times - a Mennonite farmer driving his horse and buggy along the side of the road.

Re: Sightseeing Game
There is a Mennonite farmer living close by and he uses a horse and waggon to haul logs, hay, etc. It is a common occurance during the summer.

Re: Sightseeing Game
A couple of weeks ago we visited a small US town and saw a number of different Amish couples and families travelling around the area in their horse and buggies or wagons. I also saw them shopping in the stores and selling their produce (by the side of the road). I don't get a chance to see this very often and would have liked a picture but I didn't have a camera with me. Further, I understand them to be a private people that don't wish to have any personal photos taken.
