    Fall Foliage

Post by oceanna on Wed Oct 12, 2011 10:40 am

(Here is a simple explanation for the beautiful fall leaf colours
from The Old Farmer's Almanac. I can understand this scientific
    reasoning. Laughing )

    Brilliant fall foliage results from:

    1. Healthy growing conditions in spring and summer.

    2. Sunny, dry, warm autumn days and dry nights,
    with cool temperatures above freezing.

    Squirrels and winter

Post by Guest on Wed Oct 12, 2011 12:50 pm

Heard a morning TV show host today comment that the squirrels are unusually busy (gathering nuts, etc) in his hometown in Central Ontario. Maybe it's a sign?

    That is funny wuzfuz! Laughing

Another belief held by some is that it will be a long cold winter
if there are many cones on the spruce and pine trees.
