The Great Canadian Drive-In Empty The Great Canadian Drive-In

Fifty years ago, there was a drive-in in most communities across Canada. These days, drive-in theatres are a dying breed. You see their ghosts from the highways, screens in the middle of nowhere or rows of poles that used to support those tinny little speakers, or else they've been swallowed up altogether by suburban sprawl. Fortunately, there are still some survivors, many of which have been lovingly restored to their former glory and outfitted in retro style, such as the Brackley Drive in Theatre in Brackley Beach PEI.

Can you remember the first and last time you went to a drive-in? Was it fun? Scary? Remember the popcorn and rootbeer? What else? This article lists some of the best remaining ones in each province.

Haven't been to one in years and thought they were all but gone now. In any case, I think I had MORE fun by watching all the others at the Drive-in Laughing

Sometimes much more interesting action in the cars than on the screen.

Statistics say that teens have more "accidents" in parked cars than driving on the road
