Pansies

Last summer I had a pot of pansies on my back doorstep and they bloomed until October. I bought this pot this week and I really like the colour.

Those are lovely oceanna. Don't think I will be putting anything in containers this year. They dry out too fast.

My balcony garden is nothing but container plantings. This year, I included two pots of yellow pansies that sit amongst my fushia geraniums. Looks great for now...but will they thrive?
I have three pots of fushia colored geraniuma, each with the new deep burgandy "Red Star Spike" (a dracena of sorts)....as well as lime-green Creeping Jenny at the base.

My herb pot (huge)...consists of dill...basil...sage..and parsley...and I have another herb pot of rosemary and pineapple mint.

Also planted a creeper/vine (can't remember the name) but it's silver and green....in an antique torquoise enamelled jug. I do this every year and it does great in that container.

In my old blue enamelled canner, which is sunk into the seat of an old wicker chair...I've planted coleous...but although they looked so great when I bought them...our weather has taken it's toll and they are looking sort of wimpy for now. Keeping my fingers crossed for them.

I also potted 2 Wave Petunias...one hot pink and one purple...in my antique white enamelled pot which sits on a stool that has been assembled as follows....
I recovered an old horse-drawn mower seat from my Dad's farm.
My late husband salvaged an antique draftsman's work chair (also iron...like the mower seat) and we combined the two to create a rusty iron stool.

Amongst all of my chachkies and plants, I also repotted and set out...my asparagus fern, that I winter indoors. ....and then ...in one corner of my balcony...I have my Virginia Creeper...that has been "creeping" along with me via cuttings...whereever I have been for the last 40 years!

I'd love to send you pics...but I'm such a novice with my new digital camera. Hmmm... one day, I might share my "secret 5th floor balcony garden" with you.

I recently received a digital camera as a gift.
I am definetly "electronicaly challenged"...because I despise learning how to "operate" these gadgets. Needless to say,...all that I am doing for now, is clicking and shooting...but when it comes to downloading...or...whatever...I know nothing, so I am depending on my son to help me out somewhere in his busy schedule.

Okay....so then finally it will be downloaded...and I do know that there is "Photo Bucket"....which I used a long time ago, but....hmmmmmm...will I master it again?

Duhhhhhhh.....
